Quality and Affordable Healthcare for Communities in Kilifi County, Kenya.

Covid -19 Vaccination at the Mabati Medical Centre
Covid -19 Vaccination at the Mabati Medical Centre

Once again we are delighted that your generous donations and those from our long term partners have enabled us to provide affordable and quality healthcare to over 32,000 patients by the end of 2021 in Mariakani, Kilifi County, Coastal region of Kenya.

One of our greatest highlights of the last quarter of 2021 was the donation of 1225 food hampers to vulnerable patients visiting the Mabati Medical Centre. The food hampers were donated by our sponsor the Mabati Rolling Mills , a member of the Safal Group that has been supporting the Mabati Medical Centre alongside partners like the GlobalGiving donors. We are happy that the food hampers impacted a total of 7,605 families and cushioned them against the impact of drought and famine that affected communities around Mariakani where we operate from. Alongside distribution of food, the medical centre also facilitated Covid -19 vaccination to 500 people to prevent the spread of the pandemic. We will continue to work closely with the county Government of Kilifi to increase access to more vaccinations for families living around Mariakani in Kilifi County.

We are happy to report that our Radiology and Laboratory departments have continued to be a referral diagnostic points for the surrounding medical facilities including some government medical facilities. In the last few months, our Laboratory conducted 8559 laboratory tests while the Radiology department provided radiology services and tests to 2542 patients. The quality diagnostic services that we provide have seen more and more patients getting efficient and quality treatment as confirmed by Amani and Caroline on this link.

To promote early diagnosis, our medical staff took time to create awareness on breast and cervical cancer by offering free screening services. A total of 52 patients were screened in the last 3 months. We are hopeful that this initiative will motivate more people to come for screening too and better understand the importance of regular medical check- up, screening and early diagnosis of non-communicable and communicable diseases. We will continue to undertake community outreach programs to promote preventive care services to save lives.

On behalf of our patients, staff and communities served by the Mabati Medical Centre, we wish to thank all our GlobalGiving Donors, Staff, partners for believing in us. We call on you to continue partnering with us to improve the lives of many families especially the most vulnerable with limited access to quality healthcare in Kilifi County and other parts of the coastal region. Because of your generous contributions, we have managed to save many lives by providing quality and affordable healthcare to vulnerable families.  We encourage you to share our story with your friends and families and encourage them to partner with us to continue to make a difference, by providing quality and affordable healthcare to communities living in Kilifi County. THANK YOU.
