Celebration Season at our ITVT centers
Considering the growing demand for Information Technology and vocational training among the poor urban and rural communities including communities around our Udayan homes, Udayan Care initiated Computer Literacy Programme in 2006.
The third quarter was merely a celebration season across all out ITVT Centers. There was sound of laughter, Joy, singing and dancing at every corner of the centers. Below mentioned are the events celebrated at the centers.
7th Annual Day celebration at our One of our IT center in Badarpur
On 11th Oct 2014, we have celebrated 7th Anniversary of our center. We are pleased to share that in the span of 7 Years the center has equipped 1400 underprivileged youths with IT Skills and have empowered them to break the barriers of unemployment and move towards economic stability.
Students danced on bollywood numbers, performed a short skit on women empowerment & importance of education.
Diwali celebration
On 22nd October, we celebrated Diwali festival across all our homes. The celebration included Rangoli making Competition and poster making competition. Both the competitions were organised around the social themes like Clean India, Save the Planet and Say NO to Drugs. Children from all religions came together to celebrate the festival and spread the spirit of Unity and Brotherhood.
DAN UTSAV Celebration
We also organized DAN UTSAV (Giving week) from 6th Oct to 8th Oct, 2014. During the celebration, we offered three days free of cost basic computer literacy classes to 20 needy community member’s spes specially females, who are not able to afford due to their financial background. Success Story of Bhawna (Name Changed) –Badarpur (Delhi))
“The one year advanced diploma in computer application course from Udayan Care’s centre has made me an independent girl. Now I don’t hesitate. Today I and my family are living in society with pride”. Bhawna (Name Changed), IT&VT Centre, Badarpur New Delhi.
Bhawna (Name Changed), is a student from a family with weak economic background. Her father was the only earning hand of the family of 6 members. Consequently, she along with her other 4 siblings, did not get opportunity to continue their higher education.
She had spent her entire childhood in scarcity of resources and utter poverty. However, today after completing ITVT course and through placement cell from one of our center she is been able to move towards earning a better standard of living. Currently, she is working as a computer trainer at serve samman (Vendanta foundation) with a monhtly salary of Rs 8,000 and is now supporting her family. Also along with her job she is pursuing B.com final year and is high on her spirits and confidence.
