Dadri Center celebrating on its FIRST ANNIVERSARY

With the Aim to broaden the horizons and bring IT close to the lives of many more underserved youth, Udayan Care’s ITVT Programme participated in Global Giving Tuesday to double the impact of each penny putt-in by the donors of the Programme.

Following are the updates from the programme

Celebrations and Recreation at the center

  • Celebration of completing one year of our Dadri Center ( One of our ITVT Centre in Delhi )

In September 2013, ITVT Center was inaugurated in Dadri with the aims to train 200 women and youth with basic computer knowledge and advanced IT skills at subsidised rates within one year.

  • Rangoli competition

Rangoli completion was organised at one of our center (Raman Kant Munjal Foundation) and all students participated and made some fabulous rangoli designs with colours, sand, beads etc.

Activities organised during the reporting period

  • Marketing publicity and community mobilization activities organized on regular interval in every centre to popularize the programme and increase the enrolment rate at each center.
  • Training session was organized  for the Trainers to enhance their teaching skills on Microsoft excel
  • To monitor the performance of each centre Monthly Staff Meetings were organised at every centre.

Impact of the Programme activities

There is both direct and indirect impact of the programme. On the tangible lines, the basic and advanced computer courses are adding on to both knowledge and skills of the young students. Interacting with each other, the students become better aware and explore different career opportunities. Thus enhancing the livelihood options available to these students and giving them an advantage in the job market. Spoken English and life skills training are also a part of the curriculum to make students job ready. Looking at it on indirect lines, there is increase in the confidence level of the students who step out of the school academics attending the center and broaden their horizon. The students are ready to compete in the job market and stand equipped to face the career challenges. A sense of dignified independence touches them with the completion of the course. The students of different ages, gender and economic backgrounds make the learning experience more diverse and rich. Year on year the centers produce equipped more aware and optimistic students.

It goes without saying that the IT&VT centers have equipped students across Delhi & NCR with the dignity of self reliance.

Achievements during project period:

1)     In 2014-15 (July-Sept), we have successfully enrolled 174 students across the all the centers, out of total enrollments 112 male and 62 females.

2)     The programme has been initial planning to expend in U.P. & Delhi

3)     Reaching out the marginalized community at their door step is another milestone of the programme and the number of beneficiaries is increasing in every session.

4)     Social upliftment & improved living standards.

5)     Increased confidence level among men and women.

6)        Enhanced knowledge on employment opportunities.
