The Skilling and Livelihood Program continues to strengthen communities across six states through 21 skilling centres. The program combines industry-aligned technical training with employability and life skills, helping recipients prepare for the workplace and build independence. Industry exposure, post-placement support, and a growing alumni network carry that momentum into longer-term careers.
The program also uses every opportunity to celebrate special days with the students, thereby building their perspective and personliaty. Across our centres, young women took part in Menstrual Hygiene Day and International Yoga Day sessions focused on health and well-being alongside their training. The menstrual hygiene sessions covered reproductive health, PCOS/PCOD, nutrition, and common myths and misconceptions, led by external facilitators and centre staff through interactive discussions and Q&A that created a safe space to ask questions and share experiences. At several centres, participants also created awareness displays to spread the information within their communities. The Yoga Day sessions included guided asanas, breathing exercises, and conversations around stress and mental well-being.
More than 800 young women participated in the menstrual hygiene sessions across the program, coming away with a better understanding of their health, more comfort discussing these topics openly, and practical habits to carry into daily life.

The same approach extends to preparing recipients for the workplace. To bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace expectations, the program organized industry expert interactions and mock interview sessions across its centres. Alumni and professionals from different industries spoke with recipients about resume building, job search strategies, interview preparation, and workplace expectations, while also sharing experiences from their own career journeys. At some centres, recipients participated in mock interview panels with working HR professionals and received direct feedback on their responses, communication, and overall presentation.
More than 500 recipients participated in these sessions, gaining first-hand experience of conversations they may face with employers and growing more confident in answering common interview questions, and building the readiness to take on what comes next.

Suraj's (name changed) journey is one example of how this confidence can translate into opportunity. At 21, Suraj, enrolled for the EV Service Technician course at CoE Dharuhera. While he was excited about the course, he had never seen a machine in his life. He belonged to a family of seven and the financial situation was tight. No one in the family had ever done anything with a technical background. With hands-on training and support from his trainers, he built practical skills and confidence, learning by doing and preparing for the work he'd take up after the course. Today, he is working as a Machine Operator at Uni Production India Ltd., earning a steady income.
The day he got the job, Suraj went straight back to the Centre with a box of sweets for his trainers. His journey shows how practical training, industry exposure, and the right support can help young people move from learning a skill to feeling confident about using it in the workplace.
