Skilling underserved Youth for Livelihoods

Greetings of the day to all,

Hello everyone, my name is Shri Bhagwan I joined Udayan Care IT Centre (Noida) 4 months back as an IT Trainer. I am deployed at Noida IT Centre, with core responsibility to trained the underserved community youth in Desktop Publishing (DTP) when needed I provide support to those students who pursue Data Entry Operator (DEO) & Customer Care Exe. (CCE) too, as I feel one should always be ready to participate in other tasks which assigned by centre coordinator & head office team. In the month of Aug’22 head office team send us brief to celebrate “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on the occasion of Independence Day. They instructed to follow the Niti Aayog’s report “India @75” released in the year 2018 to set a vision for India while  celebrating 75^th years of freedom. As per the report skill development is one of the essential component where rulling government is going to pay more focus to make youth employable. For the year 2022 our Independence Day called “Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” government has set themes like :- Freedom struggle, Ideas@75, Resolve@75, Actions@75 and Achievements@75. The staff and students of Udayan Care’s IT Centre planned activities keeping similar themes in mind similar, our students performed an act in form of a role play to showcase the struggle of our freedom fighters, portray ideas on papers, and talks about the action plan for the nations growth.  Each participant received praise for their excellent performance.

To ensure holistic development of youth in Udayan Care IT Centres we call several industry experts time and again to hold sessions on specific topics, in the month of Sep’22 Vinit (ICICI Foundation) visited Udayan Care’s 6 IT Centres to hold session on Financial Literacy during the two hours structured session he briefly explained the students about PF, ESI, Mutual Funds, SIPs etc. As we are actively working on placement of students to gauge an impact from the program, On23^rd Aug’22 Udayan Care IT Centre Program hosted 1^st Campus Placement Drive in the campus of their Noida IT Centre. This well-structured event was planned to provide a platform where large number of youth can give interview to grab a job opportunity as per their skill sets. To make this event grand we collaborated with different NGOs, invited their beneficiaries to participate in this placement drive. 220 students from 6 organizations like: - Sun Foundation, Saathi Centre, Unnati, Magic Bus etc. spread across 13 Udayan Care’s IT centres attended interviews conducted by 12 employers. The students were from varied trades like: - Data Entry Operator (DEO), Accounts Exe (Tally Prime) & Customer Care Executive (CCE) Of the 220 students who had participated, 158 got placed in companies such as Café Coffee Day, Tech Mahindra, Konexions Back Office Pvt. Ltd., Data Tech Solutions, Applaud Solutions, My Money Mantra, and Logitech Solution Pvt. Ltd. and many more. The event concluded with the happiness which was quite evident on the faces of our students. Employers gave positive feedback about the facilities which we have provided to conduct one on one and technical round interview sessions in the same premises. At the end of this event one of our students Anshu specially came to us to say thank you for organizing such an initiative, for she got selected in a company called “3i Infotech Pvt. Ltd.” as data entry operator with salary of Rs. 13,700 per month which is more than of her father’s monthly salary who is working as a security guard in a company with salary of Rs. 10000 per month. Anshu’s always get emotional when she recalls her father’s condition, how he has been struggling to raise the family of 5 members. That is why Anshu took decision to be a helping hand for her father in spite of being aged only 19 years. She is found to be one of the focused students during her training in Diploma in Information Technology (DIT) course.

Udayan care Information Technology centre tends to brings digital media closer to the underserved society of the people to improve their livelihoods. Currently we are running 19 IT centres in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana and have impacted the lives of more than 22,109 beneficiaries.

Our centres offer certificates courses in basic computer knowledge, diploma and advanced courses in computer application. Workshops on Spoken English, life skills training and job readiness are also a part of the curriculum.
