This project bridges the education gap for young people in remote Peruvian communities in the Andes and the Amazon. Indigenous young Peruvians face limited opportunities or support to access education similar to those in urban areas. We offer workshops, guidance & safe spaces to learn and develop pathways for happy lives. This project fosters positivity, brighter futures, promising careers and so opens up a life of potential food security, equality in healthcare & rewarding, fulfilling purpose.
Indigenous young Peruvians are hemmed in by poverty and isolated by location; nearly 20% of Peru's Amazonian's struggle with extreme poverty, food insecurity, and lack of opportunities, which causes a substantial education gap in remote regions like the rainforest. Iquitos, the only major city, is inaccessible by land from Santa Clotilde, Angoteros and Porvenir, where students come from. With your help and Global Giving's #MoveAMillion on Giving Tuesday, 3 Dec we can fix this problem.
We equip 400+ Amazonian young people with skills to access higher education & fair jobs. We workshop empowerment in sexual health, equality, careers & cultural identity. We help young Peruvians remain proud of their heritage and show them how to step into and retain their inherent power in today's modern world. In short, we help the young people build a pathway to a better life for themselves, for Peru. A big part of the solution is the Global Giving platform and campaigns like GivingTuesday.
Empowering the Amazon's future leaders provides a pathway for innovation and success, and showcases indigenous talent; this way our project creates a ripple effect. By becoming the first generation of professionals in their communities, these young people break the cycle of poverty for themselves and their families. They go on to lead their communities towards a brighter, more sustainable future and prepare a world for the wonderful gift of Indigenous wisdom. Help w/Global Giving's #MoveAMillion
