Introduction
Our project is dedicated to empowering women by providing free training that equips them with skills leading to local employment or the establishment of their own micro-businesses catering to the tourist trade. Who can resist the charm of an African bag?
Report
We’re thrilled to announce that we’ve just kicked off training for our next group of women, who are currently crafting uniforms for the local school. In a heartening development, two women who graduated last year have returned to help teach, exemplifying the spirit of community and shared growth.
Our base at the local school provides a safe and accessible space for women to learn new skills, ranging from social media and computer literacy to sewing, with plans for more as we expand. These six-week courses are offered free of charge, and we’ve partnered with local businesses to provide a post-training mentor scheme. This initiative helps women secure employment or set up their own businesses. So far, we’ve raised $371 for this project.
However, we’ve noticed a slowdown in donations recently. We understand that times are challenging, but we want to emphasize how crucial your support is to our mission. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to empowering more women.
In fact, a donation of just $10 can fund the material for 3 women to learn to sew.
Thank you for your unwavering support and belief in our cause. We look forward to continuing this journey with you.
