Dear Supporters,
This time last year we opened our first fully functioning skills centre in a township close to cape town. We recruited 9 women to our project and over 12 months they went from never sewing a stitch to now making school uniforms, bags, cushions, blankets, thsirts and shorts.
They will be graduating on 21st July when we will hope (funding permitted) to offer these graudating women a small grant of $100 so they can purchase materials and make items they can sell through our partner company that has been setup to help these women on their first step to setting up their own micro business.
Some of these women will go into making school uniforms for all the local schools while others will make items to sell to locals and tourists and the markets. It's been amazing watching their journey from this time last year being unemployed and stuck at home to now being skilled and ready to kick start their own business.
On Wednesday (12th July) GlobalGiving will be offering match funding for all unique donations of $100 or more made on this day while funds last. This is such a great opportunity for us and we would love to ask you to share our project this wednesday with friends and family and together we hope to make an even bigger donation with these matched funds.
Thank you,
