Support 22 Kids w/ Special Needs at OSSO Orphanage

During the last three months of this year, and thanks to the help of different donors, we have
been able to keep running the Hogar de Ángeles de OSSO.
Twice a month, through the coordination with Hearts of Gold Foundation, we have been
receiving some basic cleaning supplies and food for our kids dotated by Soup Kitchen.
These donations have helped us to cover some of their daily basic needs, and save some
money, which has been used to buy medicine for our kids.
Sadly, during the month of November we had the loss of one of our girls. She got a biliary
colic which ended in a surgery. She didn’t recover well enough, and passed away from
pneumonia. Her cremated remains rest in the mausoleum that we have in the orphanage.
Since November 10th, one of our kids has been hospitalized because of pneumonia caused
mainly by bronchoaspiration of food. As soon as she recovers from pneumonia, she’ll have a
gastrostomy to prevent this condition.
Twice a month we have had field trips with the kids. They have visited several times a park
for kids with special needs, called Parque Inclusivo; also, they’ve been to Mall del Río, and
had ice cream and pizza there. We plan to continue to have these kind of activities with
them, because we count on the donation of a family who volunteered for OSSO years ago.
We are very thankful to all the good and generous people and organizations which continue
to support our project. Without this help, we wouldn’t be able to keep going.

Food: In the quarter June- August 2023 , We have continued to receive food kits on a biweekly basis same that have covered the nutritional needs for the daily menu and for each of the snacks, has been coordinated in an agile and effective way the donation of food with emphasis on the needs that children have. Receiving basic foods that cover the nutritional pyramid such as: Dairy, carbohydrates, fats, fats, tubers, fruit, sugars, dry grains, cereals, proteins. Thus providing a varied and sustained diet for a total of 15 people with disabilities.
Health: We have provided medication for continuous use for a total of 14 people with disabilities, specialized care in areas such as dermatology, nutrition, dentistry, general medicine. In addition to additional medical examinations.

Therapy and other services: During this quarter our children have received daily physical therapy services through individual and group therapy sessions, adaptation of technical aids for transfer and mobilization.
In clinical psychology: Individual and group therapy, behavior modification, cognitive activities and development of daily living skills, self-care, music therapy, art therapy. In addition to having other services such as Social and Legal Work for each of the cases that are carried in the Family Judicial Units reporting on a monthly basis on the current situation of each of the children.

Education and culture: We have made an open house by areas of care with a focus on children's rights and quality care.

Recreation: Activities for special dates such as Father's Day, birthdays of the month, vacation camp that included sports activities, art, gastronomy, educational visits outside OSSO, traditional games, dance, dance, picnic, surprise party, talent show, scientific activities, sleepover, pampa mesa, making a model of the Foundation, kite flying and barbecue to close the camp.

Projections for the next quarter: Continue with the care for a total of 15 children, training of all staff in TBRI (trust-based relational intervention). Maintain coordination with Hearts Of Gold Foundation.
