Reaching the Impossible

By Rina Lazo | Director of Benefactor Services

REACHING THE IMPOSSIBLE

Age: 1 year

Admission Date: June 12 2017.

Birth Place: Escuintla.

This is the story of Denilson, who is one year old.  He is from Escuintla and is the youngest of the three children in the family.  His father Works as a farmer and barely earns Q.800.00 monthly; he never had the opportunity of going to School because he never had the economic resources to do it.  His mother is a housewife who takes care of the children.

Denilson used to be a very healthy boy.  He was born normally; but eight months ago he started to have severe respiratory complications and because of that he lost his appetite.  After a while, the fever was getting worst and was diagnosed with bronchopneumonia.  At the Hospital doctors decided to leave him in the infect ology section and he even was under intensive care.

When he was discharged from the hospital little Denilson was detected with Severe Malnutrition and that is how he ended up in Casa Jackson.  When he was admitted he was evaluated by the Pediatrician and Nutritionist, and all the laboratory tests were made to him to evaluate his health condition.

At Casa Jackson, with the support of volunteers and benefactors, Denilson started to receive the adequate nutritional treatment and follow up.  He is receiving all the food that he needs, but the most important thing is that he is receiving care and love.  He has been in Casa Jackson for one month and now he is weighting fourteen (14) pounds and fourteen (14) ounces. When he started his recovery he wasn’t able to sit by himself and now with the help of physical therapies and good food he can do it.  The mother is very happy with everything he is receiving from Casa Jackson because she can see all the changes he has had and also she feels very thankful and happy because all the family is also receiving help.
