Support Low Income Women Through Cooperatives

Our dear supporters,

As KEDV, we have been working with women cooperatives since 2001, the year we first worked with women groups on how they can formalize their economic and social initiatives under a legal structure and came up with the women cooperative model in Turkiye. Since then, we have witnessed many cases where women cooperatives and their members, take the leadership on a need or a priority of their communities and started initiatives with economic and social impact. These varied from providing training to low income women in their neighbourhood on child care, violence against women, financial literacy, entrepreneurship skills, to social activities on respect for diversities, organizing for solving a problem in their neighbourhood and meeting with the mayor with their requests, providing support to elderly during the pandemic, showing solidarity after the Pazarck earthquake to their peer women cooperatives in the disaster area, carrying out projects on preparing their neighborhoods to disasters, establishing an economic initiative to ensure more low income women have access to a sustainable income...

Since we initiated this fundraising project on GlobalGiving, we raised 50 USD; however, we are sure we will attract more attention to the valuable impact the women cooperatives are making for the strengthening of their communities and raise more funding to support them.
