Sooo...2021 did not go that well. Zoom / online meeting fatigue was added to the list of COVID-19 impacts. Financial constraints continued for most, particularly marginalised women. It impacted our advocacy and training as well.
We hoped the 9th Caribbean Women and Sexual Diversity Conference (CWSDC9) would continue its commitment of transferring knowledge, sharing resources and celebrating successes. This would be an opportunity to bring joy and connection to Caribbean women who identify as lesbian, bisexual, transgender or queer.
Sadly, the planned online gathering did not take place due to constrained resources. There was however, great interest from the community, as you will see from the event link attached.
The process that was began will not be in vain however, as we plan to stage the CWSDC in 2022. CWSDC 10 is in the process of planning and we hope to return to connect with presence, to learn with consciousness and be inspired with joy.
Our fundraising also continues and we are grateful that you encourage others within your network to donate.
We also ask that you share our campaign as widely as possible. Just doing so is powerful as this project is really about amplifying the voices of LBTQ+ women and people. Your contribution to this is priceless.
Thank you again from our team at ECADE.
