Lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer womxn* activists have gathered annually at the Caribbean Women and Sexual Diversity Conference (CWSDC) for the past 9 years. Now, COVID-19 fallout has hampered our efforts to stage the annual safe space that provides collective joy, empowerment and support for LBTQ+ people.
The impact of CWSDC, this deliberate curation of content for womxn working to end violence, inequality and disrcimination while creating spaces of acceptance and pleasure, is unequalled.
The 8th CWSDC (CWSDC Connect) was held virtually in Ocober 2020 and very warmly received. Activists celebrated connections in an online space that was slowly becoming familiar. We hope in 2021 to convene again to replenish, build up and energise our community that has faced great challenges in the face of COVID-19.
We thank you for your contribution and pledge to remain undaunted and continue our efforts to raise funds for the staging of CWSDC, because we must.
