Support Kaziranga's Flood-Hit Wildlife in India

Every year, the mighty Brahmaputra River—a lifeline for Assam’s floodplains—transforms the beautiful landscape into a flood-prone region, presenting one of Kaziranga National Park’s greatest challenges. As the waters rise, so does the threat to the precious wildlife that calls this place home. But thanks to your support and the tireless efforts of WTI’s teams, we attended to 107 cases of distressed and displaced wild animals.

IFAW-WTI's Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC), along with our Mobile Veterinary Service (MVS) units, worked day and night, responding to emergency calls and rescuing animals in need. From orphaned baby elephants to displaced rhinos, and even smaller animals like hog deer and birds, our teams were on the frontline, braving the floodwaters to provide critical care.

At CWRC, the rescued animals received shelter, food, and medical attention as they recovered from their traumatic experiences. Many were successfully treated and released back into the wild once the waters receded, while some orphaned baby animals were admitted to the Centre for long-term rehabilitation. It’s a painstaking but incredibly rewarding process, made possible by the dedication of our staff and your unwavering support.

Your donations have helped us to fuel our boats and MVS units, supply medical kits, and provide the care these animals so desperately needed during the floods. Together, we’re not just saving individual animals—we’re ensuring the survival of entire species in one of India’s most iconic wildlife havens.
