The beneficiaries of this project are low-income patients in vulnerable situations, diagnosed with some type of cancer, who require support to continue their oncological process. Thanks to this donation, the patients received, through our shelter, lodging, healthy and balanced meals, transportation to hospitals, medical advice, psychological therapy, and lymphedema therapy, as well as support for treatments, medications, medical tests, recreational activities, among other services.

Emotional Support and Companionship: Through the psychology program, patients found a safe haven where they felt understood and emotionally supported. Individual sessions provided a secure space to explore their feelings, while group therapies strengthened solid bonds of companionship, where they shared concerns, joys, and hopes with other women in similar situations.

Sense of Belonging: The safe, warm, and welcoming environment of the shelter not only offered physical refuge but also fostered a space that felt like home. This sense of belonging provided crucial emotional and psychological support during such a challenging time in their lives, promoting their overall well-being.

Autonomy and Empowerment: Through the collaboration of professionals in medical fields such as medicine, nursing, and lymphedema treatment, patients acquired practical tools, skills, and knowledge that made them feel more autonomous and empowered in managing their illness and self-care. Additionally, workshops provided by the volunteer team and psychological counseling complemented this process, offering comprehensive and personalized support.

Self-Image: The social work program provided essential support for patients in acquiring wigs, turbans, external prostheses, and specialized bras, helping them regain confidence in themselves despite the physical changes caused by the illness. This crucial aspect contributed to improving their self-image and strengthening their emotional resilience during treatment.

Inspiration and Hope: The shelter became a place of hope, where patients found inspiration by listening to and sharing stories of overcoming and resilience from other women who had successfully faced cancer. These positive experiences helped renew their hope and determination, offering a guiding light on their path to recovery.

Our goal is not only to provide medical assistance but also to improve their quality of life and offer them hope. This comprehensive support allows them to face this difficult process with greater strength and increases their chances of overcoming the disease.
