The project, Support widows & out of school children in Nigeria has suffered a pause for quite some time now due to lack of financia support. I will elaborate on this.
We appreciate the continued support of the GlobalGiving community as we work toward our mission of empowering widows and returning 2,000 vulnerable children back to school. Access to education remains a serious challenge for many families in low-income communities, and this project was created to bridge that gap by providing school fees, uniforms, learning materials, finacial support for small scale businesses and follow-up support.
PROJECT IMPACT
Despite limited resources, our initiative has continued to bring hope to children who previously had no access to formal education. Through community partnerships and ongoing outreach, we have:
Identified out-of-school children in high-need areas. Supported families in enrolling their children back into school.
Helped reduce child labor and street-related risks. Encouraged greater emphasis on education within communities.
Create revenue means for widows and sensitisation program on child spacing
Parents and local leaders consistently express gratitude for the impact of this program, especially during this period of economic hardship.
FUNDING CHALLENGES (Last 11 Months)
We sincerely wish to acknowledge a major challenge affecting the project. For the past 11 months, we have received no financial support, which has significantly slowed our progress. This funding gap has:
Despite the high rate of insecurity in the country that has created more homeless people, the gap has drastically triggared a vacuum because this project is highly needed at this period of time but the financial back up is not available hence, there is also not much to be reported.
Restricted our ability to enroll new children
Limited the distribution of school materials
Affected our follow-up and monitoring activities
Increased the waiting list of widows and children needing urgent assistance
The need remains high, and many children are still unable to return to school due to lack of resources.
CALL FOR SUPPORT
We humbly appeal to donors, partners, and supporters on GlobalGiving to consider renewing their contributions to this project. With your support, we can revive our activities and ensure that more children return to school with dignity, confidence, and the tools they need to succeed.
