This project is to ensure that the less-privileged in the Society are elevated from extreme poverty through empowerment Programs, ensuring that the Rights of widow's children are protected by sending them to school. Most Fatherless children are out-of-school. The reason is, when a husband is late, his family sends the wife away from the home. This is a frustrating situation for the widows. They are left with nothing and could barely provide three square meals for their children.
Widows in Nigeria are facing a lot of rejects and neglects from the family of their husbands. Sometimes, they are falsefully accused of killing their husbands hence, the family of the husband will send the widow away from her matrimonial home. In most cases, it traumatised the children because they become the victims. Citadel charity has a role to play as we believe that everyone has the right to have a shelter and every kids have the right to have access to standard education.
The project will help to reduce the rate of poverty and also help these families to gain back their hope to live, it will help to promote their values, learn skills and engage in businesses. There is need for a woman to be financially independent and be able to take care of their children after the death of their husbands. This project is going to impact and expose them to a new positive life style entirely.
It will put an end to the high rate of widows begging to feed their children and permanently stabilise their financial strenght. They will be independent, their children will no longer sit at home doing nothing but return back to school to learn skills. It will also help the children after they might have graduated from school to be able to assist their mothers at old age.
