When a child is educated ,they gain the knowledge and skills needed to lead, innovate ,achieve their dreams, create, change and inspire others. An educated child is likely to become an informed leader, advocate for their lives and contribute to their society in a meaningful way. The "Send Back Out-of-School Children" program is an initiative aimed at reintegrating children who have dropped out of school because of insurgency. Programs like this are crucial because they address issues such as poverty, lack of access to education, and social inequalities that prevent children from receiving formal schooling and also, supporting widows is essential for their well-being, dignity, and ability to contribute to society. Giving food and livelihood to the wideos periodically have been very helpful to the widows in local communities.
Since the inception of this project,it has brought meaningful impacts and benefits to the children:
1. It has improved their Literacy and Education Levels – It helps to reduce illiteracy by ensuring more children complete their education.Literacy helps them access information, learn independently, and adapt to a changing world.
2. Breaks the Cycle of Poverty – Education provides children with better future opportunities, reducing long-term poverty.
3. Promotes Social and Economic Development – A more educated population contributes positively to a country’s economy and stability.
This project has also brought some important benefits to the widows:
1. Prevents Poverty and Economic Hardship – Many widows face financial struggles; support helps them regain stability.
2. Promotes Gender Equality – Ensuring widows have rights and opportunities helps break societal biases.
3. Strengthens Families and Communities – When widows are supported, their children and communities thrive.
4. Reduces Exploitation and Discrimination – Legal and social support protects widows from mistreatment.
Since our last report, we have been relentlessly engaged in multiple and diverse activities to fulfil our mission:
1. Identifying Beneficiaries
Activities:
We conducted community surveys to identify out-of-school children and widows in need.
We collaborated with local leaders, schools to create a database of beneficiaries
The importance of this is to ensure the support reaches those who need it the most.
2. We generated the financial resources needed for school fees, books, uniforms, and widow support programs.
3.Our organization provided educational support for children, paid school fees and provided necessary materials (books, uniforms, stationery).
4. We Organized mentorship programs and tutoring sessions to help children catch up.
We also partnered with schools to ensure proper integration and monitoring of progress of the children
4. We empowered widows through skills training and business empowerment. Our organization conducted vocational training programs (I.e baking and entrepreneurship).
We also provided small business grants for widows to start generating income.
It has helped widows to achieve financial independence and reduces reliance on external aid by creating sustainable livelihoods.
Monitoring and Evaluation
We track the progress of children in school through regular assessments.
Our volunteers monitors widow's economic progress and adjust training or support as needed.
We document success stories and challenges to improve future initiatives.
All these evaluations ensures the effectiveness of the project and accountability.
It also helps to refine strategies for greater impact.
