Introduction
Our project aims to provide holistic support to widows and out of school children in Nigeria. The objectives of this project are:
Economic Empowerment for Widows
In the course of implementing this project, we have successfully trained and empowered 54 widows in various vocational skills and petty business. One of our beneficiaries, lost her husband years ago and struggled to provide for her 3 children. Through our program, her house was refurbished and also given some capital to start her own business. Today, she runs a thriving charcoal selling business, which not only supports her but also her three children.
Education for Out of School Children
We have enrolled 40 out of school children in formal education programs and provided them with necessary school supplies. Among them is a 10-year-old boy who had to drop out of school after his father passed away. With your support, he is now back in school, excelling in his studies, and dreams of becoming an engineer one day. His mother expressed her gratitude, saying, "This program has given my son a future I never thought possible."
Community Engagement
We have organized community awareness campaigns in 4 different states, reaching over 500 people. These campaigns have been crucial in changing societal attitudes towards widows and ensuring that children receive the education they deserve. We have seen a marked increase in community support.
Challenges
Despite our successes, we continue to face challenges. Funding remains difficult, and cultural stigmas against widows persist. However, we are committed to overcoming these obstacles with your continued support.
Our vision
We have ambitious plans for the next phase of our project, including:
Conclusion
Your donations have changed lives and given hope to those who need it most. We are deeply grateful for your support and are committed to ensuring that every contribution makes a lasting impact. Together, we can create a brighter future for widows and out of school children in Nigeria.
