Palestinians who fled from the horror of the war are suffering in silence, even after their escape from Gaza. Amid the brutal Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since the 7th October 2023, more than 100,000 Palestinians had made a painful decision to cross the border into Egypt, leaving behind everything they owned. Our emergency appeal is for emergency relief through provision of essentials items such as food, hygiene items, blankets, and/or cash support.
Most Palestinians displaced in Egypt were forced to leave Gaza due to the relentless danger of military attacks, leaving everything they owned. They face legal limbo without refugee or residency status, making access to education, healthcare, banking and employment extremely difficult. International aid for the Palestinians in Egypt is almost non-existent. Whilst living side by side with the trauma from brutal experiences of war, many of them suffer from shortage of food and basic necessities.
With your donation, we will provide essential items such as food package, hygiene kits, winterisation items, to as many displaced & vulnerable Palestinians as possible. The support may be provided in cash form (average $60 per family) to families who need cash to cover rent, medical and educational needs. Through the existing network of Palestinians in Egypt, we'll identify most vulnerable families, and our staff in Egypt will directly coordinate distribution under JISP's monitoring.
This project aims to enhance resilience of the displaced Palestinians, by providing essential food and items, as well as access to various needs through cash assistance. During our interviews with the beneficiaries, many have expressed the feeling of being abandoned by international communities. Let us help them remember that many of us do care, and willing to take whatever actions we can to help them restore hope in the most challenging life of displacement.
