By Mr. Kuriyakose Sajan | Chairman and Project Coordinator
Dear Patrons,
Greetings to you from HEARDS!
HEARDS response towards the spread of COVID-19 has been developed to keep away from community transmission of this disease and save as many lives as possible. One such response action has been providing relief to the families most affected by the lockdown from day one. We have distributed family Survival Kits to our target 150 children families in slums and villages, and many households that are more individual from where the identified need is high.
The children have no food and the fear of survival could be seen on their faces. In all our group members, we felt the hunger of their innocent children through their tears. With your generous support, the family survival kit provided by HEARDS has become a boon for this family. The family survival kit provided by HEARDS appeased their hunger.
The HEARDS field members also, have been facing problems in working in the field due to the Government lockdown and difficulty of transportation to the community. They have braved all odds and carried out the awareness, distribution of a family survival kit and providing education to the children in distressed communities across our target villages.
The aim is to help the women and girls in the community and their families who are facing extremely difficult living conditions and provide them with some support and provide basic food, health, and hygiene facilities so that they can survive through this crisis.
This project has its origin in the ‘highly felt-need’ of the target group and it is the right time wherein our intervention will encourage the “vulnerable” to participate, acquire proper recognition from the society.
Thanking you,
With best wishes and fond regards,
