This project will help provide Quality Basic Education for school going children in lower primary in the Ga West District - Amasaman in Accra.Richbone Initiative Foundation plans to provide the needs of 14 deprived schools by providing them with school buildings / renovations, furniture's, Electricity, Urinal, Toilet building, water, school uniforms and educational materials to enhance good quality education which will have great impact within the community.
Imagine schools built fifty years ago with mud blocks within the Amasaman District in Accra which has been in bad shape due to no maintenance, lack of funds from the district assemblies to build new ones and also rain washing away the school building. The school children learn under fearful conditions as the schools could collapse any time. Teachers that have been posted to these schools also do not return back to teach since the schools are in bad shape and they do not want to risk their lives.
This project is aimed at providing new and renovated school buildings, school urinals, furniture, toilet facilities and educational materials to these selected deprived schools. It will be a great relief to parents and children if at least new six classroom blocks are constructed to save them from eminent danger and allow them to study in a very conducive environment. Over 4000 children will benefit from the project, improving their literacy and education and giving them a brighter future.
The new classroom blocks and renovated buildings will provide an appropriate, adequate, desirable and acceptable learning environment for children to learn and will keep them in class any time the rain starts. Again, providing these schools with new furniture, urinal and toilet facilities, and educational materials will support sustainable development in the communities and will help go a long way to access quality education and create opportunities for them in the future.
