QUARTERLY REPORTTransform S/East Nigeria Youth with Tech/Voc Skill (54426)Reporting Period: Quarterly Update

1. Introduction

This report provides an update on the progress of the Transform S/East Nigeria Youth with Tech/Voc Skill project (ID: 54426). Our mission is to empower young people across Southeast Nigeria with practical technology, vocational, entrepreneurial, and innovation skills that prepare them for meaningful employment, self-reliance, and sustainable livelihoods.

Although we did not receive external financial support during this reporting period, we remain committed to advancing this mission through innovation, volunteer efforts, and the continued support of our social enterprise.

2. Appreciation to GlobalGiving

We sincerely appreciate GlobalGiving for providing a trusted platform that connects grassroots organizations with compassionate supporters around the world.

Although we have not yet received external donations for this project, we are grateful for the opportunity to share our vision with the global community. We remain hopeful that future partnerships and donor support will enable us to expand opportunities for youth skills development and economic empowerment.

3. Funding Status

During this reporting period, the project did not receive any external financial donations.

Despite this, we continued investing our own time, expertise, and limited resources through our social enterprise to sustain programme planning, curriculum development, innovation, and youth engagement activities.

4. Project ActivitiesTechnology and Vocational Skills Development

We continued developing practical training programmes that will equip young people with market-relevant technology and vocational skills, entrepreneurship knowledge, leadership capacity, and innovation capabilities needed to succeed in today's economy.

Food Production, Processing and Packaging Company

As a social impact initiative of the Sam Onyemaechi Humanitarian Foundation, our Food Production, Processing and Packaging Company continues to serve as a practical learning platform where young people will gain hands-on experience in modern food processing, value addition, product development, packaging, quality assurance, and agribusiness entrepreneurship.

This initiative is designed not only to create employment opportunities but also to strengthen food security, reduce post-harvest losses, and promote sustainable local industries.

Samony Natural Nutraceutical Diet Products and Nutrient-Dense Fortified Foods

We continued advancing the development of Samony Natural Nutraceutical Diet Products and nutrient-dense fortified food products formulated to improve nutrition, support healthy living, and address food insecurity among vulnerable populations.

These product innovations also provide practical learning opportunities for young people interested in food science, nutrition, manufacturing, quality control, and food entrepreneurship.

Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub)

Our Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub) remains central to this project. Through FIT-Hub, we are preparing young people with practical skills in food innovation, food processing, product formulation, packaging, quality management, entrepreneurship, agribusiness, and sustainable manufacturing.

The Hub is designed to become a centre of excellence where innovation meets enterprise, creating pathways to employment and self-reliance.

5. Social Enterprise Support

Although external funding has not yet been received, our social enterprise continues to sustain this project through research, innovation, volunteer engagement, technical development, and in-kind contributions.

For the past three years, we have consistently donated food during the pilot testing of newly developed nutraceutical diet products and nutrient-dense fortified foods. This approach has enabled us to support vulnerable individuals while continuously improving the quality, safety, and nutritional value of our products.

Our commitment is to combine innovation, humanitarian service, and youth empowerment into a sustainable model for community development.

6. Estimated Impact

Despite limited financial resources, the project has continued to make encouraging progress.

Community Reach

  • Approximately 40–60 youths reached through vocational skills awareness and community engagement.
  • 20–30 aspiring entrepreneurs introduced to opportunities in food innovation, technology, and agribusiness.
  • Increased awareness of employment pathways through vocational education and enterprise development.

Innovation Progress

  • Continued development of practical vocational training curricula.
  • Ongoing advancement of Samony Natural Nutraceutical Diet Products and nutrient-dense fortified food products.
  • Strengthened planning for the expansion of FIT-Hub and the Food Production, Processing and Packaging Company.

Capacity Building

  • Increased youth awareness of food production, processing, packaging, entrepreneurship, innovation, quality assurance, and sustainable business development.

7. Challenges

The absence of external financial support continues to limit our ability to procure training equipment, establish modern production facilities, expand vocational training, and provide start-up opportunities for young people.

Additional funding will enable us to equip training centres, acquire production machinery, expand FIT-Hub programmes, and provide practical training to more young people across Southeast Nigeria.

8. Prospects and Future Plans

In the coming months, we aim to:

  • Launch comprehensive technology and vocational skills training programmes.
  • Expand the Food Production, Processing and Packaging Company into a fully operational youth training and production centre.
  • Scale up the production of Samony Natural Nutraceutical Diet Products and nutrient-dense fortified food products.
  • Strengthen the Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub) with modern equipment and practical learning facilities.
  • Provide entrepreneurship training, mentorship, and business incubation for young innovators.
  • Build partnerships with educational institutions, government agencies, private sector organizations, and development partners to expand employment opportunities for young people.

We remain optimistic that future donor support will enable us to transform the lives of young people by equipping them with practical skills that create sustainable employment and strengthen Nigeria's food and manufacturing sectors.

9. Conclusion

Although we have not yet received external financial support for this project, our commitment to youth empowerment remains unwavering. Through innovation, volunteerism, our Food Production, Processing and Packaging Company, Samony Natural Nutraceutical Diet Products, nutrient-dense fortified food products, and the Food Innovation & Training Hub (FIT-Hub), we are building a strong foundation for sustainable skills development and economic transformation.

We sincerely thank GlobalGiving for providing this platform and look forward to partnering with donors who share our vision of empowering Southeast Nigeria's youth with the technology, vocational skills, and entrepreneurial opportunities needed to build a prosperous future.

With sincere gratitude,

Rosita Agomuo
