The devastating flash floods in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have claimed more than 400 lives, destroyed homes, and displaced thousands. Families are left without shelter, food, or medical care, while damaged infrastructure worsens the crisis. DWAF is launching emergency relief through distributing basic food items, medical camps, clothing, bedding, and essential aid, long-term recovery support. With resources overstretched, urgent support is needed to save lives and help communities recover with dignity.
Heavy monsoon rains have caused severe flash floods in Swat Valley, damaging homes, displacing families, and leaving many without food, clean water, or shelter. Deaf individuals and persons with disabilities (PWDs) are especially vulnerable in such disasters due to communication barriers and limited access to relief resources. Immediate support is needed to protect lives and restore dignity.
This project will provide emergency relief kits including food, clean water, hygiene supplies, and basic shelter materials to flood-affected families, with special focus on Deaf individuals and persons with disabilities (PWDs). By addressing urgent needs and ensuring inclusive support, the project will help restore safety, dignity, and hope to vulnerable communities in Swat.
This project will build community resilience by promoting inclusive disaster response, ensuring Deaf individuals and PWDs are not left behind. It fosters awareness about accessible aid, strengthens trust in support systems, and encourages long-term collaboration between local organizations and relief partners. The project also sets a precedent for disability-inclusive practices in future emergencies.
