We have been continuing our delivery of RESTORE in HMP Eastwood Park, and we want to give you a sense of the impact the course has had on the women who attend. The following words are from women who attended the programme we ran in November 2019:
‘The workbooks, enabled me to see exactly why my life has been so chaotic and what I have to change.’
‘Yes (I do think differently about my life) – I have more hope now about changing.’
‘I would never normally write anything like this, but I have … it has all really made me think’.
‘You don’t ever hear of people coming out the other side and making a good life – it’s inspiring’.
‘It’s made me question my life, people around me and I CAN CHANGE’.
The Forgiveness Project has been working with the women in HMP Eastwood Park since 2014 and although working in prisons continues to present challenges, RESTORE is regarded by staff as one of the key programmes delivering effective and impactful work for women in their rehabilitative journeys.
We have three RESTORE programmes to deliver in the next couple of months in HMP Eastwood Park and we look forward to sharing this work with you in our next report.
Thank you so much for all your support for our work – you make change possible!
