NEW Scholarship recipient! Meet Santiago
Santiago is an 18-year-old first-year Law student at Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales y Sociales (UCES) in San Francisco, Argentina. After considering Santiago’s application and interviewing him and his family, Atrapasueños Association awarded Santiago a VISIONAR scholarship for the 2019 academic year.
Santiago’s goal is to become a lawyer and dedicate his career to protect the rights of people who are marginalized: the poor, the elderly, the handicapped, and other disadvantaged groups. On his application essay, Santiago explained that half of his family, on his father’s side, comes from a disadvantaged part of society, living in poverty and not finding a way to thrive. Serving as role models for Santiago, the other half, on his mother’s side, have been able to get an education and lead productive lives.
