This project will provide nutrition and developmental delays assessments, essential food supplies, caregiver trainings, and play-based interventions to 800 vulnerable children 0-6yrs old and their caregivers in urban slums in Lagos, Nigeria
In Lagos' low-income communities, thousands of children face malnutrition, limited play, and poor health. 43% risk not reaching full developmental potential, and only 4% have books at home. Rising food costs leave families struggling, especially young mothers. Children 0-6 are most affected facing hunger, delayed development, and missed early learning.
Nurture Plus provides nutritious food, play-based learning, and health checks to children 0-6 in Lagos' poorest communities while empowering caregivers through training on child health, nutrition, and parenting. By improving nutrition, early learning, and caregiver skills, we help children grow healthier, learn better, and avoid long-term developmental delays, giving families hope and a real chance to thrive.
The project will provide nutrition support, screening, and early stimulation to children 0-6yrs enabling prompt identification and intervention of developmental delays while stimulating growth and development for school readiness and productivity.
