With the generous support of donors and partners, the Indian Association for the Blind (IAB) implemented targeted interventions to improve the quality of life and self-reliance of visually challenged families.
Immediate assistance in the form of groceries, financial aid, and essential household items helped stabilize vulnerable families and reduce economic stress. This foundational support enabled beneficiaries to focus on education, skill development, and livelihood opportunities.
Access to inclusive education was strengthened for children through scholarships, Braille textbooks, audio learning materials, and adaptive classroom support. These measures improved school participation, learning outcomes, and confidence, laying the groundwork for long-term empowerment.
To promote independence and dignity, visually challenged individuals were provided with assistive technologies such as screen readers, Braille displays, and voice-enabled devices. These tools enhanced access to education, employment, and daily living activities.
Overall, the initiative has moved families beyond immediate relief toward sustainable empowerment—strengthening resilience, restoring dignity, and creating opportunities for growth and inclusion
