Ignite Shelter, an initiative inspired by Bhumi, works to address the care gap in shelter homes caused by high child-to-warden ratios by engaging dedicated young volunteers. In Quarter 3 (October-December 2025), the program brought together 442 volunteers who conducted 363 weekend learning sessions, reaching 1,163 children across partner shelter homes.
The initiative maintains a focused 1:5 volunteer-to-child ratio, ensuring children receive personalized attention and consistent mentorship. Alongside academic support, children also participate in holistic learning sessions such as Arts and Life Skills, which help build confidence, creativity, and essential life competencies.
Guided by 28 Club Leads and 58 Coordinators, the initiative strengthens educational support while fostering leadership among volunteers. Ignite Shelter continues to create meaningful learning opportunities for children in shelter homes, equipping them with skills for long-term growth and independence.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our valued donors and partners whose continued support makes these impactful learning experiences possible.
