This initiative aids families of Gaza’s frontline healthcare workers, who have lost over 1,700 colleagues since October 2023—more than two deaths daily—while working in a system where only half of 36 hospitals remain partially functional. Workers manage mass casualties amid 52% medicine shortages and 68% consumable stockouts, while nearly 90% of Gaza’s 2 million residents are displaced and 1.6 million face acute food insecurity through April 2026.
Gaza’s healthcare system's collapse has left workers exhausted, malnourished, and displaced, with over 300 detained and hospitals operating at 200–300% capacity, often navigating over casualties amid fuel, water, and supply blackouts. Families face severe shortages: 71.5% of young children survive on ≤2 food groups daily, dietary diversity is unmet, and malnutrition/disease is rampant in shelters housing 730,000+ displaced.
The project stabilizes households, mitigates famine risk, and strengthens the healthcare workforce by delivering food rations, hygiene kits, and household necessities to verified beneficiaries through coordinated and transparent mechanisms. Monitoring ensures accountability while relieving pressure on workers who manage 42,000 life-altering injuries, including 10,000 involving children.
Support affirms the psychological well-being of healthcare workers, helping maintain operational continuity despite 1,722+ deaths. Outcomes—monitored distributions and stabilized households—uphold humanitarian principles, fostering dignity, solidarity, and hope amid Gaza’s ongoing crisis.
