Following two years of devastation in Gaza, at least 1,722 healthcare workers have been killed and hundreds detained or injured, while nearly all hospitals have been attacked and rendered non-functional. Surviving staff face trauma, displacement, and severe shortages under blockade. Support Bereaved Gaza Healthcare Families will provide urgent financial relief, psychosocial care, and essential assistance to families of fallen medical workers, safeguarding their dignity and stability.
Since October 2023, Gaza's health system has been devastated by continuous attacks, killing at least 1,722 healthcare workers and leaving hospitals destroyed or barely functioning. Many doctors, nurses, and paramedics were killed while serving their communities. Their families now face trauma, displacement, and severe financial hardship, struggling to secure food, water, medicine, and shelter amid blockade, shortages, and ongoing violence.
This project will provide verified bereaved healthcare-worker families with consistent monthly financial stipends to cover essential needs such as food, clean water, medicine, Educational support, and shelter. Alongside financial relief, it will offer psychosocial support and case follow-up to ensure stability and dignity. By restoring basic security to affected households, the project helps prevent further vulnerability and long-term poverty.
The potential long-term impact includes strengthened community resilience, sustained economic development, improved access to education and healthcare, enhanced social cohesion, and the creation of lasting infrastructure. These outcomes empower future generations, reduce vulnerability, and foster self-reliance, ensuring that interventions lead to enduring positive change rather than temporary relief.
