As winter continues in rural Limpopo, conditions have remained exceptionally dry and cold. These months are always challenging for the working donkeys that support families every day, and we have been doing everything we can to continue providing assistance where it is needed most.
Thanks to your generosity, our team has continued regular health checks, monitored the condition of working donkeys, and maintained the production and fitting of our safe, welfare-focused harnesses. These harnesses help reduce painful injuries, improve comfort, and allow donkeys to work more safely.
Where resources allow, we have also continued supporting vulnerable animals with supplementary feeding and monitoring access to water. While the rainy season is still some time away, every visit gives us the opportunity to identify donkeys needing extra care and provide support before their condition deteriorates.
None of this would be possible without the kindness of our supporters. Every donation helps us continue reaching communities, providing practical welfare support, and improving the lives of both donkeys and the families who depend on them.
As we look ahead to the coming months, we hope to build on the progress already made by expanding access to safe shelter, improving reliable water sources, continuing supplementary feeding where needed, and producing even more safe harnesses. We also aim to continue regular health assessments and community education, ensuring owners have the knowledge and resources to care for their animals throughout the year.
Thank you for standing with us and believing in this project. Your support is creating lasting change, and together we can continue improving the welfare of working donkeys across our communities.
