Just a minute, Yes, that’s all it takes to read this. That’s all the time that is needed to make a difference in someone’s life. It is through the support of people like you that someone in our villages leads a better life. And here are some of the stories.
Academic Achievements
Shining like the moon is Chandini, our student of Grade 10. Hailing from a poor family that couldn’t afford her basic education, it was through donations from people like you that BCT could provide her 100% scholarship. Supported financially from the time she joined us in class 6, we are proud to share that this girl, from a humble background, stood as the School Topper! Securing a score of 522/600, hers wasn’t the only success story from our school. Yes, there were 26 other stories as well! Each of our 27 students who wrote the board exams this year, overcame obstacles to reach where they are today. From the two specially abled students who were provided special support to Syamala who got 100/100 in Maths, each and every student put in the hours. With the support of great teaching staff, we at BCT are overjoyed, and we thank each of you who has believed and stood by us in supporting our cause.
Confident Citizens
Academic success is not enough, and as always BCT emphasized on social animation aspect too. The activity of ‘Grama Prerana’ (Village motivation), took students to different villages in the past month. They spoke about social evils, showcased traditional folk arts and won the hearts of people. Designed to give students a boost of confidence in public speaking, this activity also helps them assert themselves against social evils. These young students also confidently performed at the event of ‘Enterprising Bharat’ in Visakhapatnam, where they showcased folk art forms of kolatam, dappu and tappetagullu.
Interactive Learning
With many student visitors interning at the campus, our children got to meet students from different parts of the country. Student interns from institutions like FLAME in Pune, Azim Premji university and MIT ADT came, stayed and shared their experiences with the children. Dignitaries such as Ms. Lalitha Ramani, Head Google Maps -India, Brazil and Japan, also visited and stayed on campus, helping the students prepare for exams.
Exposure visits
Exposure visits were also held, and BCT school students went to the BCT KVK center in March. Here they learnt about vermicompost production, home science. and the relationship between good food and agriculture - components that play a critical role in rural life.
The past few months have been of steady growth and learning. As the strength of students in school increased this year, with new students joining the BCT family, we hope to provide them the right environment to grow, flourish and realise their true potential. And to achieve this, we hope that your support will always be there.
