During the past three months, the farm has continued to serve as a space for education, community engagement, sustainable agriculture, and international cooperation. Several important activities and developments have taken place, contributing to the achievement of our long-term goals and strengthening our impact within the local community.
One of the most significant activities during this period was the launch of the project "From Seed to Fair", funded by UNDP. The project has a duration of eight months and aims to promote sustainable agriculture, environmental awareness, and community involvement. Through this initiative, young people and middle-aged women have participated together in educational sessions focused on permaculture, plant cultivation, and sustainable farming practices. Participants not only gained theoretical knowledge but also had the opportunity to apply their learning through practical work on the farm.
Following the initial training seminars, several additional workshops were organized as part of the project's continuation. These workshops allowed participants to deepen their understanding of sustainable agriculture, exchange experiences, and further develop their practical skills in farming and environmental stewardship.
The farm also welcomed two primary schools from Velika Kladuša. Students visited the farm as part of educational field trips, where they learned about our activities, sustainable agricultural practices, and the importance of environmental protection. The visits provided young people with an opportunity to connect with nature, gain hands-on experience, and better understand the relationship between food production and environmental sustainability.
Another important development during this reporting period was the arrival of new international volunteers who will contribute significantly to the farm's future growth and development. We are pleased to welcome Roman and Flavia, volunteers from Switzerland and Mexico, who will remain with us for the next three years as advisors and mentors. Their knowledge, experience, and long-term commitment will provide valuable support in the implementation of our activities, strategic planning, and community engagement efforts.
In addition, we welcomed Gareth, a volunteer from the United States, who will spend three months working with us on the farm. During his stay, he will support daily farm activities, assist with educational programs, and contribute to the overall development of the farm's initiatives.
Another valuable event during this reporting period was the visit of representatives and staff members of the German foundation Heidehof Stiftung. We had the pleasure of hosting a group of approximately twenty participants at the farm. During their visit, we prepared breakfast for the guests and introduced them to our mission, activities, and ongoing projects. They were given a guided tour of the farm and had the opportunity to learn more about our work in sustainable agriculture, community development, and environmental education. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for exchange, networking, and strengthening international relationships that may lead to future cooperation and partnerships.
Construction of the seminar house also continued during this period. The project remains in progress, and construction works are actively underway. At present, the work is focused on the excavation and preparation of the ground, which represents an important first phase of the building process. Once completed, the seminar house will significantly enhance our capacity to host educational programs, workshops, volunteers, and community events.
Through these activities, the farm continues to develop as a center for sustainable agriculture, environmental education, intercultural exchange, and community learning. The combination of educational programs, volunteer engagement, youth involvement, and infrastructure development reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a vibrant and inclusive space that promotes sustainability, cooperation, and lifelong learning.
