Support a Peace Farm in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Spring 2023

Dear friend,

Spring season started much earlier this year. We had first flowers already in the mid January. This was a reason that we put the first pease seeds in the ground already by the last day of February.

We prepared all raise beds for the gardening season. A very first green house is purchased and at the moment waiting for the rain to stop so we can install it and plant new cultures in it. We want to harvest in the green house according the permacultural principles so we have been studying a lot about the best practices to do it.

As you know we have a new volunteer house/hostel in which we will welcome first Peace camp participants. We already agreed with several organisations to host their activities at the Peace farm so it seems that the Farm will be more crowded than usual which is what we have hoped since its foundation.

We are hoping that by the end of April we will have street light system installed with the solar energy so it will be possible for people to move around the Farm after the sunset.

The most exciting thing for us is that we finally found an architect who will help us design the Seminar house on the principal of Zero waste energy and will let you know how that process is developing.

We are ready for the 2023

Dear friends,

We have many happy news. The summer and fall of 2022 were very busy but very succeful.

We have completed the rennovation of the acomodation house on the Farm and we are happy to inform you that now we have warm bedrooms ready for you when you come to visit.

We already have two young volunteers from Germany who came to stay and learn with us for a year and of course it makes big difference when we have people living on the Farm 24/7.

In September we organised International Peace week and we focused our research on the isssue of the BiH youth leaving the country as well as how we take better care for our mental health. We are happy to share that we had youth from different parts of Bosnia and Hercegovina, different religious and ethnick backgrounds.

This year's campaign 16 days of activism against violence on women and girls we organised with religious communities in our area. Religious leaders were happy to use their voices against gender based violence and we published it on our social media. In order to reach as many people as possible, religious leaders gave speeches on the topic in all 35 temples that we have here. We received a lot of great feedback and people from the area were happy that religious communities are standing up against gender based violence as well.

We prepared our garden for winter to rest and started to organise a green house which will find its home on the Farm beginning of Spring 2023.

We participated in several international conferences netwrking with other ngos and individuals who cen help us improve our work and make it more effective.

For 2023 we already secured some grants to continue to develop the Garden of Opportunities as well as youth and peacebuilding activities in BiH and globaly.
