Our educational program for children, guided by local teachers and volunteers, provides adequate education in remote communities, impacting more than 60 children and 30 women in Iquitos, Peru. Children involved in the program are getting extra help that supports them, helps to develop skills and motivates them to continue their education. With their commitment and dedication, our teachers and volunteers are transforming lives, promoting education and creating hope for a better future
In Iquitos, many families are living in a state of poverty that is incomprehensible. Only 52% of school-age students finish high school and only 13% of the latter attend college. 73% are poor and of this group, 42% live in extreme poverty. Problems such as lack of education, inequality and poverty that afflict this area can be overcome through the access to adequate education.
Our educational program provides after-school activities and a safe place in Belen Neighbourhood in Iquitos. We conduct classes in mathematics, English, Spanish and science. In addition to these classes, workshops are provided to develop the kids' creativity and talents in art, sports, and music. All these activities will increase their self-esteem and the chances of finishing their studies and continuing to higher education.
By providing the kids with additional learning opportunities after school, we help them improve their grades, continue their studies and break the cycle of poverty. We aim to promote education for children and women by creating a safe and inviting space where they will be empowered, supported, and accomplished. Our goal is to pave the way for children to thrive and become contributing members of their families and communities.
