Dear  Friends,

We are glad to submit the quarterly report of our project for Children with Multiple disABILITIES.

Our sincere thanks are due to GlobalGiving community for their generous support for Education and Training of children with Multiple disabilities.

The donations we received through GlobalGiving helped us to strengthen our hands to provide appropriate education and training and food and accommodation for children with Multiple disabilities.  All this children are provided FREE Breakfast, Tea with snacks, Lunch and dinner.

 Divine Light is not only providing free residential education and appropriate training in:- Horticulture, Craft and Music and Tailoring, Braille, Orientation and Mobility, Parent counselling, Medical intervention, social skills and self help care etc… the children also participated in the following programmes:-

The following are the highlights of this quarter:-

• August 2019

          15^th August 2019              -           Celebration of Independence Day with Flag hoisting, Sports and                                                                     Cultural programme                                                   

           23^rd August 2019             -           Celebration of Krishna Janmastami

• September 2019

           2^nd September 2019        -           Celebration of Ganesha Chaturthi festival                                                

            5^th September 2019        -           Celebration of Teachers day           

             23^rd  September

           30^th September 2019       -           1^st Semester examination 

• October  2019

           2^nd October 2019             -           Celebration of Gandhi Jayanthi     

           3^rd to 5^th October 2019     -           Children’s assessment

           7^th & 8^th October 2019      -           Celebration of famous Dasara festival in Karnataka

           27^th October 2019            -           Celebration of Diwali festival

Dear Friends,

Please do accept our sincere thanks for your valuable support to our project for Multi disabled children.

Your valuable donation has been utilized to provide residential Education, Training & Rehabilitation for the children with disabilities.

This is the on-going project; in our project we have children with multiple disabilities (Visually Impairment with Mentally Challenged or Hearing loss and Physically disabled ).

The background of these children are socially, economically backward and they are severe disabled due to malnutrition. These children are neglected by their parents. Hence Divine Light is providing free residential Education and appropriate training in : Horticulture, Craft, Music, Tailoring , Braille, Orientation & Mobility, Parent counselling, medical intervention, Social skills & Self help care etc… in order to bring them to the mainstream.

The following are the highlights of this quarter:-

• June 2019

 1^st June 2019                         -           Admission of New children with disabilities

21^st June 2019                         -           Celebration of Yoga Day

27^th  June 2019                        -           Celebration of Helen Keller Day        

 

• July 2019

25^th July 2019                         -           Medical Check-up was conducted

• August 2019

7th^th August 2019                    -          Parents Meeting was conducted
 

 The Success Story of Vidya

Vidhya  is 19 year old, she is Visually Impaired with Learning disability, she came to our Institution at the age of 5 years. she come from a very poor family and she was neglected by her parents.

Therefore we admitted Vidhya  to our center after her Medical Intervention, we began her training with : self-help care, Pre-braille, Braille reading & writing, Orientation and Mobility Training, Social skills and music. Due to the intensive & individual attention, she has come-up very well and developed her self-confidence.

We taught her regular curriculum and encouraged her to appear for 12^thclass Public examination conducted by the Govt. of Karnataka and she secured 1^st class in the 12^th Standard Public examination and  she is pursuing her further studies with us..

We wish her all the success in her future.

This is how our center is providing individual care, residential Education and training and help the children with disabilities to stand on their feet as a respectable citizens.

We take this opportunity to thank each and every donor in a special way for their generous donation and also we thank wholeheartedly to GlobalGiving for their valuable & timely support and guidance for the benefit of the children with Multiple disabilities.
