AKFP educates and rehabilitates 3,600 street and vulnerable children through 66 Child Protection Centers across Pakistan, providing food, quality education, care, and skills training to help children build safe, productive futures in line with UNICEF and SDG
Pakistan faces a severe child protection and education crisis. Over 22.4 million children are out of school, while 3.3 million are trapped in child labor, losing access to education, health, and a safe childhood. Early marriages remain common, with many girls married before 18, and only 34% of children under five are registered at birth, increasing their vulnerability and exclusion from basic rights.
This project will expand enrollment from 3,600 to 5,000 street and vulnerable children by the end of 2026 through AKFP's growing network of Child Protection Centers. It will provide safe learning spaces, meals, education, psychosocial care, and skills training, helping children leave child labor, return to school, and build sustainable livelihoods, breaking cycles of poverty and exploitation.
The project will create lasting change by enabling up to 5,000 vulnerable children to access education, protection, and life skills by 2026. Educated and skilled children are more likely to secure dignified livelihoods, avoid child labor and early marriage, and contribute positively to society. In the long term, this initiative will help reduce poverty, inequality, and social exclusion while strengthening communities and Pakistan's human capital
