Since our last report in March, the devaluation of Turkish Lira continued and the inflation continued to increase. The increase in costs of energy, inputs, food, transportation, rent had a negative effect especially in the small and micro businesses. Thanks to our donors through GlobalGiving, we were able to raise 1040 USD in the past 3 months to give micro loans to 7 women entrepreneurs. Thank you to the donors who supported us to provide the micro loans to low income women at a time of economic turmoil.
The businesses that were supported include selling cosmetics and beauty products, selling underwear, producing decorative home items and producing accessories. The women were able to buy products to sell and materials for their production activities with the help of the loans.
We are now closer to our target of USD70,000 to be able to support 200 low income women entrepreneurs, but we still have a way to reach it. The need is even more as a result of the economic turmoil. We would be grateful if you could continue to spread the word and share the project link in your networks.
Warm regards…
