Dear Donors,

Happy new year 2021! May 2021 bring you joy, happiness, and great health.

At the end of 2020, YKIP did some activities to support the children in the program. November 2020 was the time we distributed your donation to the children. It was the second quarter donation distribution for the academic year 2020-2021.

During the second quarter distribution, we distribute the money that the children can be used to pay for the internet package to support their online study. We distribute the fund for all students in our project area: Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, Karangasem, Tejakula, and Pengotan.

In December 2020, we are grateful to receive an additional donation from our sponsors to distribute the food package for the students. There are 505 food packages were distributed to all students in the four programs: KEMBALI, VOCATIONAL, UNIVERSITY, and KIDS.

To brighten your new year, one of your sponsored children from Denpasar sends her regards to you. Here is the letter from Noviyanti:

Hello, my name is Novianti

I am from Denpasar.

I am thankful that God always gives good health for me and my family. Because of this situation, we should always maintain our health and follow the health protocols to avoid the coronavirus.

Study activities are currently carried out at home by the online systembecause as you already know this season does not allow us to go to school, meaning it costs us more money to buy the internet dataHappy to let you know that mreport scores are fortunately increasing.

During these times, I just stay at home because I am too afraid of the coronavirus.

I have a dream to be successful person that makes my parent happy and so proud of me. Wish me luck. :)

want to thank you very much to GlobalGiving Crowdfunding donors who have supported me with scholarship. It means so much to me.

You always have my prayers so that mercy and grace would always follow you all the days of your life.

Please take care.

Love from Bali,

Novianti

Dear Donors,

First of all, YKIP would like to thank you for your kind donation so that our project to help 15 girls to finish their senior high school is funded. It is all because of your generosity that we can make the dreams of 15 girls to finish their education to grade 12 come true.

As the project funded is for 15 girls to finish their senior high school will take some time until all students in this project are finishing their high school, we will keep you updated on the progress of the project. We are also delighted to inform you that this year, one of the students that you are sponsored finished her high school in the middle of this year. Sari sends you a thank you for sponsoring her so that she finished her senior high school as below:

Hello, donors at GlobalGiving,

How are you? I hope everything is fine.

My family and I are in a good condition, we are healthy and fine, but we still have to stay at home due to the pandemic.

I would like to thank you for the generosity that you have supported my education in senior high school. Now I have graduated from vocational high school.

I plan to find a job after graduating. Finding a job is hard if you don’t have any experience. For me, I am grateful that I choose the vocational school that gives me the chance to have on the job training period. I got training in one of the villas in the Candidasa area and I got quite a lot of experience during my training. I also got a certificate in the training and it will be proof that I gained experience in the tourism industry. I believe by this chance it will be easier for me to get the job. However, due to the pandemic, the tourism sector is not operating as it used to be, but I hope that this will be over soon and everything will be back to normal.

Again, I would like to thank you for your support to me so that I can have the opportunity to study and get training in the tourism industry. It is really useful for me and my parents too. I hope that I can meet you in person someday. I hope your generosity can assist more students like me so that they can also finish school.

Sari

Donation Distribution

We started the donation distribution of the new academic year 2020-2021 in the second week of September 2020. The donation that we distribute in this event as below:

  1. School supplies (books and stationery)
  2. Internet allowance (previously was the pocket money/transport allowance, but due to the pandemic and most students are studying online, we still distribute the allowance, but now is allocated to buy internet package)
  3. Admission fee for those who admitted in grade 10.

As the distribution is held in the pandemic situation, the health and safety of everyone is the highest priority. We keep the contact minimum, have the students and family wear their mask during the event, and obliged everyone to wash their hands before entering the venue.

YKIP also paid the monthly school fee for the first semester in the fourth week of August 2020, when YKIP field and admin staff visited each school where the sponsored students study. We hope that by distributing the school supplies and allowances we can help the children more during this uncertain time.

YKIP would like to thank you for your generous donation to this project. We will keep you updated about the project's progress in the future.

You can still support YKIP on GlobalGiving. Please donate to our other projects: Helping girls to get more skills and help 25 more students finishing their studies in senior high school.

May you and your loved ones always healthy and well,

Dear Donors and supporters,

May this report finds you well,

The Covid 19 pandemic has changed all aspect of our life, and YKIP programs and its beneficiaries is not an exception. YKIP takes necessary steps in preventing the spread of the disease right after the government of the Republic of Indonesia announce the existing case in Indonesia. YKIP staff started to work from home since the third week of March and do all monitoring to the children in the program remotely and with help of our local partners is the area. With heavy heart, YKIP also had to postpone the fourth quarter distribution of 2019-2020 academic year due to the pandemic situation.

YKIP supported students are study at home started from the second week of March 2020, following the order of the government. They need to study online, and most of them find that online study is rather challenging. Some of them do not have sufficient tools to do the online study, while other students are struggling to have the internet package in the middle of decreasing income of their parents.

We then try our best to assist all the children and families in all YKIP programs by conducting the 4th quarter distribution on May. Although the students are study at home, we still distribute the fund that intended to be the pocket money for the students, but now it is reallocated to buy the internet package, so they can buy more internet package to study online. This is will also ease the parent, so they can support their children study online without worrying that they should allocate their money to buy internet package.

The distribution was started on May 14 and ended on June 3, 2020. We took longer time to distribute the donation because we would apply the preventive method to make sure that all people involved in the event are safe. Unlike previous donation distribution events, we did not make a gathering. The student or parent need to come to the venue in designated time. We also required all people who came to the distribution to wash their hands, using face mask, and keep safe distance from other people. We also disinfected the area before and after the event. In the area where we have many students, we divided the distribution into several days, to make sure all people are obeying the preventive measure.

Another additional support we gave to the students and family in the program is food package support. Thanks to our donors who support us in this initiative to support the families further. We distribute food package that consists of rice, eggs, cooking oil, sugar, instant noodle, and biscuits for the students’ family. The distribution of this food package was conducted in the same time with the 4th quarter donation distribution of academic year 2019-2020.  Not only we distribute the food package to our students in KEMBALI, but also to the families in our other programs such as KIDS, Vocational, and University Programs. We hope that this initiative will help the family during this uncertain time.

We are grateful that we have such generous donors like you so that we can continue to support the sponsored students in our programs during this challenging time. Thank you for your kind support to Balinese girls to finish their high school.

Stay safe and healthy,

Sending you all the best wishes from Bali,

YKIP Team

Dear donors and supporters,

Happy new year 2020!

On December 15, 2019, YKIP invited all 12 graders from all YKIP project area to attend the Youth Career Planning Workshop (YCPW) 2019. This event is our annual event that usually takes places on December.

YCPW is one of our program of which aim is to give as much information for the children about planning a future after graduating high school. YKIP realise that from the 54 students who are in 12 grade this year, not all would be able to continue their education to higher level. By attending this workshop, YKIP hope that the children will be able to determine what they would do after graduating from senior high school.

Prior to this event, YKIP gave the questionare to the 12 grader to find out what they would like to learn. From the data collected, we found that most of the student would like to work in tourism sector, while other would love to work in the financial institutions. Other answer including being a entrepreneur. We then create the workshop based on the students need. We invited speaker from the hotel and hospitality industry, financial institution, and an entrepreneur.

The workshop was guided by a facilitator who also acted as the game master. We create the fun workshop so that the children would not be bored learning the new things. The first three sessions was about job searching and creating good CV and cover letter. These section was presented by a HR person from Mitrais, one of our donors.

Next session were about working in the financial institution, presented by a branch manager of a bank in Denpasar city. After the financial institution presentation, we got a session from training manager in a five star hotel in Bali presenting about working in a hotel. The entrepreneur section was presented by the owner of online cake shop. The children were so enthusiast learning the new things from the industries.

Finished the industry presentation, we continued the workshop by giving information about available scholarship in Bali and Indonesia. We invited State Accounting College to share the information about the college to the students. Another presentation was from a hospitality training center, where they gave information about the study in the hospitality field. YKIP also presented the chance of getting the YKIP scholarship. To encourage the participants, one of the alumny of YKIP KEMBALI and University program share his experience with the students.

Besides all the presentation, we also have some team building and fun games for the participant lead by the facilitator of the workshop. We would like thank all speakers who voluntary spare their time for this event and sharing their knowledge. Also, for all sponsors who support this event. We hope that this event will give the knowledge needed by the children to reach the brighter future.

Last but not least, we would like to thank you all our donors and supporters for their kind help on 2019. The achievement during 2019 is all because of your support.
We wish you a  new year full of peace, joy, and prosperity.

Have a wonderful 2020!
