Many high school graduates become unemployed due to lack of skills. YKIP plans to make a scholarship program for girls to get one-year training to obtain more skills needed in the job market. The training program will have them learn the skill as well as have a diploma to get a better job and decent salary. The scholarship includes tuition, living and accommodation cost, and other educational costs such as training, practicum, and seminars.
In 2019, there are 20,234 high school graduates are unemployed. One of the causes of the problem is that high school graduates in Bali lack a specific skill to obtain a job in the job market. In this case, girls become more vulnerable. Girls who finished high school and become unemployed are considered as the burden for the family, thus they are often received different treatment compared to the boys. This project is helping girls to obtain more skills and able to support their families.
YKIP provides one-year training to obtain specific skills in the field in the readily available job the job market such as tourism, administration, and food production. By having this training, they will be able to get a better job and a decent salary. They will not be considered as the burden of the family and they can also help their family to escape poverty.
The girls will have a better job and income so that they will be able to help their family to break the chain of poverty by helping the parents to cover day to day expenses. They will also able to the example for their surrounding that education and training will take them to another level of life.
