The purpose of the program is to help impoverished students with school fees, school uniform and learning materials so that they have an opportunity to finish school and be able to go to college and in the future they can also help others and become a productive citizen.
Malawi is amongst the poorest countries in the world where only 35% of children complete their primary education and only 6% complete the secondary education. Primary education is free but secondary education is not. Poverty is the main reason why many people fail to finish school, lack of resources such as learning materials, qualified teachers, and poor infrastructure and cultural influences all impact on the quality of the provision of education.
The purpose of the program is to help those students with school fees, school uniform and learning materials so that they have an opportunity to finish school and be able to go to college and in the future they can also help others and become a productive citizen.
We started the program in 2019 and since them we have managed to support 46 student (30 still receiving our support) 16 students were able to finish their secondary school and 3 went to Public Universities were they are continuing with their education. Our long term goal is that by 2025 we should be able to support 200 students to finish their secondary school and send 80% of them to Universities or College.
