Eastern DR Congo faces a growing Ebola emergency as the deadly Bundibugyo virus spreads toward conflict-affected communities near Goma. This urgent project will protect families, schools, churches, hospitals, and public spaces with hygiene kits, isolation units, community awareness, and emergency support for health workers and Ebola survivors. Your donation can help stop another devastating Ebola outbreak before more lives are lost.
Eastern DR Congo is at high risk of a deadly Ebola outbreak caused by the Bundibugyo virus strain. Conflict, displacement, weak healthcare systems, overcrowded hospitals, and limited sanitation make communities extremely vulnerable. Schools, churches, and public spaces lack basic hygiene supplies, while many health workers still do not have enough protective equipment. Without urgent prevention measures, Ebola could spread rapidly across Goma and nearby communities.
This emergency Ebola prevention project will provide hygiene kits to hospitals, schools, churches, and public spaces in eastern DR Congo. We will equip health workers with protective gear, install isolation units in high-risk health zones, rehabilitate an Ebola Treatment Center, support survivors with food kits, and partner with local radio stations, journalists, and faith leaders to deliver trusted Ebola awareness and prevention messages.
This project will strengthen Ebola preparedness and public health systems across eastern DR Congo. Families will gain lifesaving knowledge about disease prevention, health centers will improve emergency response capacity, and communities will become better prepared for future outbreaks. Protecting health workers, supporting survivors, and improving sanitation will reduce fear, save lives, and help vulnerable communities recover with greater resilience and stability.
