Our IBIP team, consisting of Nigerian Partnership Chair Greg, Special Projects Chair Nathaniel, College-Assistance Chair Marina, Media Chair Tram, Fundraising Chair Stephanie, and Team Lead Kacy, is working with a small restaurant owner in Bauchi, Nigeria named Deborah Obalohun. All of our team members, excluding Kacy, are in their first year with IBIP, while Kacy is in her second year with IBIP.
The challenge our team is currently facing is the creation of advertisements, specifically posters. Through using this medium to promote our business partners, we will be increasing publicity, engagement, and revenue. To accomplish this, we will be designing the posters and sending them to be printed in Nigeria, where they will then be posted in approved areas. Another challenge we hope to overcome in the future is the development of the infrastructure of our business partner's restaurant.
The money raised from the fundraiser will be put into a fund for a renovation project that Ms. Obalohun believes is necessary as her building is quite old. This will help for Ms. Obalohun to serve more people at once and make her restaurant more appealing to potential customers. Additionally, expanding her business can be used to hire more local employees and give back to the community. Ms. Obalohun wants to see her community grow and prosper.
The money that goes towards advertisement and renovation will I make the restaurant more appealing for customers, attracting a larger customer base. Over time, this will help her restaurant gain more momentum and expand.
