Through this project, the child receives psycho-educational stimulation care at the Foundation's health care center. The adult is trained to continue this stimulation at home, and receives the necessary materials to this end. On a weekly basis the Foundation professional will monitor and define new work guidelines. The adult will also receive weekly nutrition workshops and the necessary food for the child, complemented by providing, through a professional, social care to the adult.
According to the National Index of Statistics and Censuses, during the first quarter of 2024, poverty in Argentina rose to 54.8% and child poverty to 70%. It is imperative to provide opportunities to children during their early childhood in order for them to have a healthy growth and correct development that qualifies them for education. Malnutrition generates irreversible damage at a cognitive, behavioral and socio-emotional level, which negatively determines the child's future.
With a comprehensive approach to the social problems that give rise to extreme poverty, through a multidisciplinary team: pediatricians, nutritionists, social workers, early stimulators and Montessori, psycho-pedagogues, speech therapists. We provide comprehensive education to the adult responsible: 1) early childhood care, 2) skills for the work of the adult responsible; 3) through spaces for the schooling and stimulation of adults and, 4) in the strengthening of mothers in cases of violence.
Evidence shows that children have a better chance of maximizing their potential when they are well nourished, cared for responsively, provided with learning opportunities from birth, and protected from illness, violence and stress. That is why the priority for a child to develop correctly is nutrition, stimulation and a healthy bond with the mother or responsible adult. By addressing the education and support of the adult, we achieve the sustainability of the change over time.
