Go Girl Ghana has handed over the responsibility for the 12 communities and 600 girls to the communities in Awutu-Senya West. We are still there for background support but the 2 year project we had planned for them has now ended for them. We feel very confident that the people are extremely able to take on girls education with a force!
We are now working with district officials in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana to start our project there. We hope that in our next report we are able to give you more details on this!
In the meantime, please keep your eye on the website and our Facebook page for more information. Thank you for your support!

Go Girl Ghana Volunteers
The first quarter of 2019 was all about the handover of the project in the Awutu-Senya West District to the local volunteers. Because in the second quarter, the responsibility will lie with them. We focussed very much with the volunteers on the application of SALT CLCP and the way they communicate with the communities to make the handover a smooth one.
Aside this, we of course had held our activities in the various communities which take place throughout the year.
600 girls
12 communities
Weekly Girl Group meetings in all of our communities
Weekly Home visitations in all of our communities
Monthly Mother Club meetings
Monthly Community Engagements

Go Girl Ghana has activities which are held steadily throughout the year, so the last quarter of 2018 was no different.
600 girls
12 communities
Weekly Girl Group meetings in all of our communities
Weekly Home visitations in all of our communities
Monthly Mother Club meetings
Monthly Community Engagements
The last quarter of 2018 however was centered around the Community Quiz Finals. In July 2018 we had the first rounds of our annual event. We zoned our 12 communities in 3 zones and each community put forward 3 of their best contestants to compete. The subjects of the quiz were English, Math and Science with the questions being formulated by the Ghana Education Service. The winner of each zone then came together to compete in the finals held in Awutu-Bereku on the 6thof December 2018. It was a huge event where all of our 600 girls attended with supporters coming along from their communities as well as local officials and GGG stakeholders. This event was also a good moment for the girls to let their voices be heard so we used the opportunity to do a parade through the streets which got a lot of attention! The big winner was Bontrase but we are proud of all who contested and thankful for all the support we received. Please see the video in the link below for a good overview of the day. Enjoy!
