Steps to Recovery: Supporting Syrian Amputees

At NSPPL, we are dedicated to providing specialized care to children with unique medical needs. One of our approaches is cranial helmet therapy, which involves fitting a child with a custom helmet to correct the shape of their skull.

This treatment is typically prescribed for children under 15 months of age who suffer from conditions such as brachycephaly, plagiocephaly, or craniosynostosis that require cranial reshaping.

Recently, young Omar visited our NSPPL Center in Al-Bab. Omar has been diagnosed with a congenital cranial deformity (tower skull). Following the recommendations of the supervising physician, our technical team assessed his condition and fabricated a suitable cranial helmet to help limit the deformity and work towards correcting the shape of his skull.

At NSPPL, our work at the Reyhanl Center is all about empowering individuals with mobility challenges to regain independence. The fitting of prosthetic devices and orthotics plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our beneficiaries.

Recently, we fitted an Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO) for Mohammad, a beneficiary suffering from foot drop in the lower limb due to a neurological injury. This fitting has helped restore his ability to stand and walk, enabling him to carry out daily activities with increased normalcy and dignity.
