This projects opens doors to future careers. The STEAM Team Summer Scholars program provides $900 summer camp scholarships to Title I students entering 4th-6th grade, giving them access to hands-on STEAM learning they otherwise could not afford. Through multi-year participation and partnerships with local colleges and cultural organizations, students build confidence, academic skills, and exposure to future careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math.
Many Title I students in Bay County lack access to high-quality summer enrichment programs due to financial barriers, causing learning loss and limiting early exposure to science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). Without affordable summer opportunities, students entering 4th-6th grade miss critical chances to build skills, confidence, and interest in academic pathways that shape long-term success.
This project provides summer camp scholarships to elementary Title I students and removes financial barriers that prevent access to high-quality STEAM enrichment. Through partnerships with local colleges, arts organizations, and science programs, students participate in hands-on learning experiences that build academic skills, confidence, and curiosity during the critical summer months. The program reinforces learning, strengthens peer connections, and sustains academic growth over time.
This project reduces summer learning loss and increases educational equity for Title I students in Bay County by providing consistent access to STEAM enrichment. Students who return year after year build stronger academic skills, confidence, and interest in STEAM fields, increasing long-term college readiness and future workforce participation.
