STEAMshala, a STEAM-based learning approach to improve educational outcomes for children with disabilities and underprivileged communities. It promotes STEM learning through fun, inclusive methods like DIY activities, hands-on experience, quizzes, painting, and technology-supported teaching. The project includes classroom upgradation with STEAM tools, teacher capacity building, and curriculum integration. It will be implemented in one government/aided school in Bengaluru for students from Grades
The shift towards STEM labs and digital classrooms increased after COVID. However, students from marginalized communities, government schools, and children with disabilities still lack access and confidence to pursue STEM careers. The STEAM approach adds arts to improve creativity, critical thinking, inclusion, participation, and better learning outcomes.
This project will improve access to STEM learning for students from marginalized communities, government schools, and children with disabilities by introducing inclusive STEAM-based learning methods. It will create hands-on learning opportunities, use arts to simplify complex concepts, encourage creativity and participation, and build confidence. This will help students develop critical skills and consider STEM subjects as future career options.
The project will create equal learning opportunities for students from marginalized communities and children with disabilities. Over time, it will improve their interest and confidence in STEM subjects, increase their chances of pursuing higher education and career opportunities, and promote inclusive classrooms. It will also help build skilled, creative, and confident future professionals, contributing to social and economic development.
