By Becca Emerson | Anti-Trafficking Coordinator
Hello, friends of Fair Haven! So much has happened since our last update in the Anti-Trafficking Program, and we are so excited to share.
We are wrapping up on year one of our grant cycle, which has allowed us to build our program and dream about what direction we want to go to best serve survivors of Human Trafficking. This has been such a fun and stressful time. We have finalized protocols, made decisions on what direction to go, relaunched our updated support group in the Lake County Work Release Program to serve the female inmates, and have been actively serving clients since we last sent our update. We are preparing for the “official” launch of our program in just 8 days by finalizing our policies and checking off all the checkboxes on our year one goals and objectives. Fun, fun fun!
The best part has been visiting with others in our community who are already serving survivors. Being able to hear their stories of how their programs have changed the lives of survivors in their communities really inspire us to get the next phase of capacity building under way. Just last week, we visited the Dream House, which is an amazing day program in Indianapolis, IN. It was so much fun to visit with the advocates who work tirelessly to help their survivors, and to play with Murphy, their super fun house dog.
We are so grateful for the support from our community. We are actively raising money to support our mission to open our own Day Center for victims here in Lake County, along with personal hygiene products for our clients in need. Please continue to share our mission and donate today!
